Are you a Landlord seeking to lock out a commercial tenant for default of rental agreement? Although a Sheriff is not required to attend, to protect yourself, you should have some form of proof of payment default, such as a letter from your legal counsel and/or returned NSF cheques. You should also post a notice on the front door of the business establishment directing the locked out tenant on how they might retrieve any property left behind. Remember to include contact information and perhaps a deadline date for recovering property before it is sold or donated etc.

Are you locked out of your home or apartment? To regain entry, please be prepared to show valid Government issued identification such as a valid Ontario Drivers License or Ontario Picture Health Card bearing your name and the address of the property you require to be opened. Expired identification can not be accepted. Thank you for your understanding.
Commercial Property Unlocking Service Policy
Commercial property unlocking services can be provided when you can verify that the business you require opened is your own. Landlord representation, or a legal document like a valid mortgage or a recent bill to that address which bears your name is sufficient. You must also be able to present a valid Ontario Drivers License or Ontario Picture Health Card bearing your name.
